RodriguezAuthor: "Adios, Havana," a Memoir If for no other reason, at least to grasp a sense of ominous reality and sobering history. As a former Cuban political exile (1961,) I see so many similarities between my former country before Castro's revolution and America today, that sometimes I think I'm re-living a nightmare."Common Sense" should be a fundamental part of America's curriculum.Andrew J. If one reads it impassionately, the truism that history repeats itself is written all over Thomas Paine's "Common Sense."As in 1776, our country, though slightly different this time, has reached its eleventh hour. Our democracy is in shambles morally, politically, and economically.I suggest we take a break from reading fantasy/fiction for a while and pore over this eye-opening classic.
Everyone in the US needs to be aware of what is going on in the US and how we better take note - as we are losing all our rights.
Truly, a book for the ages. Everyone in America should have this book read, and shared with their children.
Every American and Human should read this. Excellent reading in this pamplet that describes how blinded we are and how close today resembles the tyrany that the founders were fighting against.
One can also use this book as a reference to see how modern political arenas and perspectives differ from the legacy our founding fathers wanted to leave behind. Thomas Paine is one of the most relevant authors of the American Revolution. Anyone with any interest in the American Revolution or American history would not be disappointed with this book. Common Sense, Age of Reason and Rights of Man are three books that will give a person the clearest perspective into the ideology of the founding fathers. This and John Locke's two treatises will inform any reader on the beautiful principles this country was formed upon.
